Project Description

Modernized 1970s Home

This dated home, first built in the 1970s, was transformed into a funky, mid-century modern oasis.

The once closed floor plan house was opened up to create an inviting and colourful space. The vaulted ceilings were enhanced with wood planking for a dramatic great room, kitchen, and dining area.

A bold, high-contrast colour palette flows throughout the home featuring warm tones, moody black accents, and pops of blue and orange. It is all tied together with gold accents.

This home contains a healthy mix of curved and clean-line furniture, which nods to the home's 70s flare. What an incredible work of art!

To help give the red oak flooring a lighter appearance, Oil Plus 2C Vanilla was used. Precolor Easy Intense Black and Oil Plus 2C were used on the live edge ash barn door and the hemlock beams. To protect the live edge walnut countertop and give it a lighter look, Oil Plus 2C Natural was used.
